Do My Business Until I Come

In the first lecture we focused on the Parable of the Minas of Luke 19:11-27. There is a similar story told in Matthew 25:14-30. We want to look at this story in our first discussion group to see what should be some of our responsibilities as we wait for His coming.

1. Look at Matthew 25:14. Think and discuss what are some of things that the Lord entrusted to us during His absence?

2. In this parable, do all the servants have equal responsibilities (verse 15)?

3. Who determine how much each servant received? How does 1 Corinthians 4:7 apply here?

4. According to the following verses do all Christians have the same gifts and abilities? Romans 12:6, 1 Corinthians 12:11

5. What else do we learn from Matthew 25:15?

6. What are the lessons of verses 17-18?

7. Read verse 21. Discuss how the way we purpose the Lord’s business in this world affect us in a coming day.

8. Consider together what was wrong with this man’s perspective of his master in verse 24? What can we learn from it?

9. Review verses 26-28 what was wrong with what this man did or didn’t do?

10. Read Romans 12:6-8. What challenges are there for each of us?

11. How should Christ’s return affect your daily life:

a). 1 John 3:2-3 ____________________________________________________

b). Acts 1:6-9 ______________________________________________________

c). Hebrews 10:24-25 ________________________________________________
